The client is one of the most innovative Third Party Administrators in the country. This company has a proven business strategy and value proposition that that fills the gap for mid-to-large sized self-funded clients that want the full service capabilities of a large health insurer but the personalized service and attention of a small service provider.  The organization employs over 1000 employees with 9 service centers strategically located throughout the country. It has over 20 traditional sales professionals.

Business Objective:

The organization conducted market research and discovered an unmet market demand of employers that self fund their employee health benefit. These employers needed provider networks that were customized to the demographics of their employees. The organization created a product to meet the unmet market demand. The client needed to hire two high caliber consultative sales professionals to promote this unique product. These two senior sales professionals needed to be located, on the east and the other on the west coast to create national coverage.    


The client retained The Howard Group to conduct the search for these two Regional Sales Directors, Customized Networks. The search was difficult for it required the recruitment of two senior level sales professionals that had national contacts with the national fee for service consulting firms. These professionals also had to be highly proficient with self funding and provider networks.  

As its sole recruiting source, The Howard Group used its a network of contacts, created over 30 of years combined recruiting experience in the employee benefits and healthcare services industries, to identify potential candidates on a national basis. Through the rigorous application of The Howard Group Seven-Phase Search Process, The Howard Group was able to identify and attract a handful of well-qualified senior-level sales professionals located on both the east and west coast for these two positions. Offers were extended and accepted by exceptionally well-qualified candidates, one located in Phoenix and the other in Nashville.
